Our purpose on our current sermon series at Southwest is to learn from a letter written to the Ephesian Church. It is a letter written by the Apostle Paul to encourage Christians living in this great City. The Ephesian Christians were marginalized in a pluralistic culture that was tolerant to just about everything else except the Gospel or the Church proclaiming the Gospel. They needed to have their faith anchored securely in the truth of the Word so they could be confident of their position in Jesus Christ. They needed to learn to live out their faith in the context of their culture and amidst spiritual opposition that they faced on a regular basis.

So we welcome you on this journey inviting you to pray for the richness of this letter to infiltrate our hearts with the wonder of God’s amazing grace. Your heart would be blessed if you read the whole book of Ephesians once a week for a few weeks.
